Alex Woerner grew up in Spanish Fork, Utah. He is a certified ASL interpreter, an open-water certified scuba diver, and a business student at Brigham Young University. He and Rachel got married in November 2017, and life has been a non-stop adventure since then.

Rachel Woerner was a child of the Air Force, but Colorado Springs, CO is home. She is a certified yoga instructor, a Master of Public Administration student at Brigham Young University, and an avid traveler. She and Alex met in an upper-level college ASL class, and they have been inseparable ever since.

Alex and Rachel are avid travelers, aspiring world changers, and friends to all. They can’t wait to make a difference in the world, one child at a time.

Signs of Hope International seeks to empower d/Deaf individuals in developing countries, often against cultural norms and customs. We believe that d/Deaf people can do anything–all they need is access to education and a language.

We partner with schools for the deaf in Ghana and we’re aiming to expand to other developing countries across the world. If you love children, education, Ghana, the Deaf community, or people, please consider donating.

Your tax-deductible donation will accomplish several things: directly sponsoring our d/Deaf students (tuition, room & board), buying supplies and supporting the schools, and helping sponsor some of our volunteers. Thank you for your generosity!
